Hi there! Today I'm gonna tell you some about me. Beyond personal characteristics that each individual person may have, each of us is composed and moves around certain ideals, motivations, cognitions, and a moral. Some of us integrate these ideas so deeply that they build a kind of mental vertebra within us that will make us conceive the world in a particular way. In specific, I mean that we embody certain struggles that build us as political subjects.
Well, one of the struggles that make up my way of being, living and thinking the world is veganism. As you can imagine, I don't eat any food with animal origin, but this struggle isn't limited to that, because it's not simply a type of diet, but is a etichal-political and philosophical position. Therefore, is a topic that you can't cover in one blog. So, I'm gonna write the key ideas to understand this position.
So, I'm gonna write the key ideas to understand this position.- First of all, veganism is a struggle that advocates antispecism, to overthrow the anthropocentrism that has existed for centuries, and for freedom of all animales, whether they're human or non-human.
- It is understood that the human being has enslaved the rest of the species for their own benefit, and that, today, has no foundation.
- There is a huge incongruity in our relationship with others animals: we take care for a few, and we kill te others (although we often perceive the first as objects, "pets", and not as sentient beings).
- Veganism itself is for the respect of animals (because we have no right to their lives), but there are also other reasons why to be vegan, such as the planet.
- 90% of the Amazon Rainforest has been destrpyed by the livestock industry, which also results in the extinction of some species.
- The livestock industry is the largest responsible for pollution (more than the sum of all means of transport: airplanes, cars, trains, buse, etc.)
- The livestock industry is the largest responsible for the food shortages and water shortages: because if all the kilos of food used for animals (that will later be killed) were distributed directly, would feed more than 10 times more. And for each pound of meat are used 19.737 liters of water.
- The livestock industry is responsible of 18% of the of the ecological footprint of the greenhouse effect.
Well, those are some reasons for, at least, think certain practices (only reasons related to evironment). I hope you could consider it.

killing animals is something very sad but I think it's something unstoppable nowadays
